Hellow everyone. Today I bring you a new part, which is a very important topic for everyone. The previous part that we knew, how to sing without stress. This part I will discuss, how to control our breath while singing, so that the finishing in the song is good. Many artists are facing this problem. They question, how can we use this breath properly. There are many people who think that we should do a lot to enhance our breath before learning music. But I would say, in Indian Classical music the whole subject of breathing is done. So there is no need to do anything to enhance the breath separately. From the first day of classical music learning, research is done on the subject of breathing.
So let's get started, how do we practice breathing. At first with playing the tanpura or harmonium that only "sa" and "pa" together should be heard for a while. Then we say "OM" in "SAA". We have to hold on to "M" until we run out of breath. First we have to take a deep breath. Then when that breath is released it will make sound and we have to feel that sound. It's as if that sound is coming from inside us and coming out of our foreheads. It practically never happens but that's what we need to feel. We need to keep in mind that we need to do this very slowly. Don't think that we have to end this process too soon and the whole process has to be done effortlessly. No pressure should be applied to the throat and head.
We often notice that our voice is shaking while practicing the standing of the voice. Actually our voice does not tremble. It vibrates as our inner breath leaves it. That's why our standing as well as the practice of breathing is very important. If we have stability during this exhalation, then our "SAA" will never tremble. But if the breath is not stable, then our voice will tremble everytime. Practicing standing on "SAA" means we are practicing breathing. We need to calm down and start this practice. When we do "OM" we have to feel as if the sound is made from the stomach and slowly rising upwards and coming out of the forehead. Even if it is not true, if we can feel it, we will feel a vibration inside us. And that vibration is feel when we realize that we are practicing our breathing in the right way. But if there is no vibration, you have to understand that something is going wrong somewhere in practice. The more stable your mind, the more likely stable to enhance your breathing will be during practice.
If we can practice in the right way, then all our problems are solved in this practice. Such as the practice of breathing, the practice of singing with less stress, the practice of base etc. There is no need to do anything separately. I am finishing Part 10 here today. I hope this part will be very helpful for you. If you want to discuss any issue, please let me know in the comment box.
